Welcome to Leh Airport; you’ll be greeted upon arrival and transferred to your hotel by a private chauffeur-driven vehicle. 

Arrive at Chamba Camp Thiksey, where you can soak in the serenity of the surroundings while receiving a traditional Ladakhi welcome. You will then be accompanied to your well-appointed luxury tent after completing check-in formalities at the Reception Tent.

There will be no activities on your arrival day, as it is medically advised that you relax and undertake minimal exertion to acclimatise to the rarefied oxygen at this high altitude.

Later, the Excursion Specialist at the camp will meet you to discuss the suggested itinerary and help plan your private excursions. You may take a stroll through the blessed hamlet of Thiksey and engage with the joyous local community, immersing yourself in the scintillating peace and tranquillity.

Overnight at Thiksey

Today begins with a late start, leaving the morning free for you to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and stroll around the campsite, taking in the views from each tent, which opens out onto alfalfa pastures. Alternatively, you may take an easy, invigorating walk through the lush farmlands of Nyerma with your private guide, gaining insights into ancient knowledge of medicinal herbs and religious life at the nunnery. Return to the camp for lunch.

Later, your private chauffeur-driven vehicle will transfer you to Leh City for a gentle orientation tour. Our Leh City Heritage Walk ushers you through the labyrinth of by-lanes under the gaze of the imposing 17th-century Leh City Palace. Accompanied by your private guide, explore this last great frontier town where everything from locally spun woollen clothing to ritual items can be sourced. Your walk concludes near Chubi village, where your private chauffeur-driven vehicle will collect you and take you to Shanti Stupa, perched at a magnificent vantage point with spectacular views of this mesmerising landscape.

Overnight at Thiksey

Begin your day by visting to the Thiksey Monastery, which houses a two-storey statue of the Maitreya Buddha. At the monastery, you will have the privilege of participating in the Buddhist Morning Prayer ceremony at sunrise. Continue on a private guided tour of the prayer rooms and the temple dedicated to Goddess Tara. Return to the camp in your private chauffeur-driven vehicle for a hearty breakfast.

After a sumptuous lunch, proceed in your private chauffeur-driven vehicle to explore the jewel in the crown of the Drukpa lineage: the Hemis Monastery, the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. Your private guide will help you explore the many interesting facets of this institution, where the halls are adorned with beautiful statues and mural paintings.

Overnight at Thiksey

After breakfast, your exciting journey continues in your private chauffeur-driven vehicle through some of the region’s most awe-inspiring landscapes. You will pass through the Khardung La Pass (5,570 m), considered the world’s highest motorable road. After a packed lunch in the village of Khardung, continue your private drive past the famous sand dunes of Nubra to arrive at the village of Diskit.

Your arrival at Chamba Camp, Diskit, comes as a delightful oasis equipped with every modern luxury.

Overnight at Diskit 

Your private chauffeur-driven vehicle will drive you to the picturesque village of Sumur, located across the Shyok and Nubra Rivers. Led by your private guide, hike towards the hidden lake - Yarab Tso - one of the high-altitude sacred lakes in the Nubra Valley, secluded within rocky terrain.

Later in the day, we invite you on an adventurous ride on the double-humped Bactrian camel across the sand dunes of the Hunder cold desert. Relive the dreams of merchants and monks as they trudged these very sands in search of glory in days of yore.

Overnight at Diskit

Today, your private chauffeur-driven vehicle takes you on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to behold Pangong Tso, Asia’s longest and largest brackish lake. The private drive takes you over the world’s third-highest motorable pass into the remotest region of Changthang.

Check into your mobile satellite camp and partake in a fresh lunch high above the lake waterline. 

Later in the day, take a gentle walk along the shores, spotting wild horses and marmots against nature’s wildest spectrum of colours.

Overnight at the Pangong

After breakfast, continue your journey in your private chauffeur-driven vehicle back to the Leh Valley through picturesque landscapes.

On arrival, your private chauffeur will transfer you to Chamba Camp, Thiksey. The rest of the evening is at leisure to relax and unwind in the luxurious environs of your camp.

After breakfast, you bid farewell to the enchanting terrain of Ladakh. You will be transferred to the airport in your private chauffeur-driven vehicle for your onward destination/return flight.
