We had an incredible holiday in India organised by Elegant Journey Mr Vivek 11th years ago, I’m so glad we ask Mr Vivek to helped us again this time. And without fail this was another incredible holiday, and I can say won’t be our last. This time we went to Ladakh and Rajasthan and all were perfectly organised. Hotels/ guides/ drivers all were well chosen I would like to special highlight Mr Yoginder our Rajasthan driver he was really good reliable and to us he is more than just a driver he is a good friend. Also Remesh and Sonam our guides in Ladakh region, it is an area no one should missed. Lastly of course Mr Vivek, his knowledge about the country is really good, with his help, I know my each visit to India will be truly incredible Thank you again for this wonderful holiday Hope I will see everyone again soon

Excellent India Tour Operator

Elegant Journeys is a five-star tour company headed by Vivek Wadhawan. He is on top of very single issue. Tours are custom-made, and private. Vivek meets you personally at the beginning of the tour and he sends a company representative to every city we visited. You have your own AC car, driver and guide for every destination. The driver stays with you throughout. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DEV SINGH AS A TOUR DRIVER. He is excellent, a very kind individual and quite knowledgable as well. He shared many personal stories and insights of India and its culture. He catered to our every need, supplied us with COLD water every single minute and was alert and always ready when we needed him. He made sure that he was available to help us in any way, shape or form. He constantly asked us if we wanted to do other stuff, pass by shops etc. We made a good friend in India and highly recommend him to english-speaking tourists. Our guide in Agra - KAPIL JUNEJA - is another one that we highly recommend. He has such a jovial personality and extremely knowledgable on everything historical about India. He gave insights that I am sure guide books would not have. It was such a pleasure being recipients of his guided tours in Agra. The guides never made us feel coerced into shopping certain stores and only brought us when we asked. Our guide in JAIPUR - RAJIV - was equally jovial. His guided tour was entertaining as he inserted a lot of anecdotes to the tour. However, I cannot emphasize the pleasure of having DEV SINGH as our guide for 6 days - simply a superb human being. Vivek, you have a gem in Dev.

Elegant Journeys is an excellent company headed by Vivek Wadhawan who is very hands on. All of the tours offered are private and there are both predetermined tours and special itineraries if desired. The company has a roster of office help, drivers and local representatives in each place you visit. It also has good arrangements with the Oberoi hotel organization and our accommodations were incredible. The company goes the extra mile to ensure that your experience is unique. When some visitation sites are closed Vivek personally instructs the assigned guides to other sites to guarantee unique experiences. When internal flights are cancelled he arranges options: either other flights or a driver to transport you to the next location. The company throws in extras and is intent to see that you have a first rate experience. You should not hesitate to sign on with Elegant Journeys. Dealing with the company directly is very efficient and guarantees that there are people on the ground who will monitor and take care of your every need. It also eliminates another level of charges dealing with a U.S. company which in turns deals with its Indian counterpart. Vivek is a first class gentleman who is very professional. The guides who were assigned to us by the local representative offices were excellent. Special requests were handled willingly. The hotels were fabulous. Last but not least the driver assigned to us, Dev, was remarkable. Besides being an astounding driver he shared much information with us that put a very personal twist on life in India. We ended our journey feeling that we had made a good friend of Dev. Elegant Journeys ensured that we left with warm feelings for the country and the people we met. Even the most respected hotel brands could pick up one or two pointers from the Oberio organization. Highly recommended.

pleasant and friendly tour guide ever met

It is not possible to completely explore a place like Jaipur without a helpful tour guide and skilled driver who knows everything about the place. We were very lucky to have someone like Javed Bhai (MJ) and cab driver Mukesh ji who were so knowledgeable and helpful. It was amazing trip because of them.

We would highly recommend our guide Tahir. Tahir was very knowledgeable in explaining the local heritage and culture of Jaipur. We learned so much about the historical sites and temples . He answered all our questions and was very considerate and polite. Tahir was very happy to follow our itinerary advising us on the best places to visit for shopping. Our elephant farm experience was out off this world. Tahir also made sure we had rest breaks, water and washroom breaks. As 2 lone female travellers we felt safe and secure at all times and would highly recommend to any solo female traveller. Our time in Jaipur was greatly enhanced by Tahir and made our first trip to India a very memorable experience.

Golden Triangle Tour

It was such a next experience for me and my wife to make this trip to India with Abid. Abid is a great guide, he knows a lot and also focused in our needs, we had an amazing time there doing the Golden triangle tour. We also celebrated my birthday in jaipur and it was so nice. We travelled with Abid because my daughter travelled with him before and it make our experience the best ever. Hotels, food and treatment was really great.

'Incredible' Experience in 'incredible' India

Having travelled to more than 100 countries over the years, I can honestly say that my experience in India organised through Elegant Journeys exceeded anything I have ever done before. All aspects of the trip were handled professionally and expertly from making the original booking through to the very end.
I was initially a little hesitant in travelling to India as we had tried three times to make this happen only to have something arise at the last moment preventing us.Our whole experience thanks to Mr Vivek Wadhawan, was far beyond our expectations. He took every care to ensure that all facets of the tour were remarkable from beginning to end, continually checking throughout the trip.
I was particularly impressed by the experience provided to us regarding my husband's birthday. This was certainly one that I am sure we will both remember for a very long time. Our driver, Mr Yogi, was fantastic and the patience he showed in what can only be described as 'chaotic' situations was amazing.
Many thanks again for providing us with something that can only be described as 'incredible India'. This was a holiday which I am sure will be difficult to surpass.

Excellent tour company for travel arrangements to India

We cannot recommend Elegant Journeys highly enough. All arrangements were handled professionally and with inside knowledge of each place we visited. Vivek was quick to respond to all our queries. All the hotels were excellent and the local guides he engaged were knowledgeable and friendly. Everything ran like clockwork. Our driver for 12 days was absolutely wonderful. Yoge was calm and steady in the chaotic traffic. He drove safely and with great care. A trip that met all expectations and more!

A fantastic trip experience in Rajasthan with Elegant Journey

The trip to Rajasthan i made with Elegant Journey was the best experience ever, therefore, i keep coming back with small variations, and bring my friends with me. The trip is highly interesting and draw an accurate and broad picture of the state, its history, culture, traditions, handcrafts, nature and way of life. The hotels and food were outstanding ! Comfortable, clean, beautiful and with touch of heritage to complement our experiences in the sites. All our needs were catered or with love. The car and its driver were just like family; accurate and always on time, excellent drivers (not simple), who kept the car always clean, with cold water, tissues, and some snacks. The guides were interesting, locally experts, spoke fluent English, and their explanations were excellent. Elegant Journey responded to any of our requests and mails immediately, and take personal care and interest in everyone of their customers. The organization of the trip was up to the smallest details, suggesting lots of experience and foreseeing possible troubles. I highly recommend Elegant Journey for trips anywhere in India and some neighbour countries.

Incredible India

My husband and I just retuned from a long anticipated two week trip to India - our first. When they say it is Incredible India - they are right - it is! If you've every considered going there - take the leap do it - and use Elegant Journeys to arrange it.

We consider ourselves seasoned travelers, but were honestly somewhat daunted by the prospects of the traveling in India. We did considerable research on various group tours - thinking this would be our best option - although we'd never taken a group tour before. We learned of Elegant Journeys, a Delhi based travel company, through our internet search and are thankful we did. They arranged an amazing individual tour throughout northern India for us at less than the cost of a group tour with 5 star accommodations throughout. Our itinerary included Delhi, aranasi, Khajuraho, Arga, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur.

Every aspect of our trip was perfectly planned and arranged. We were met on every transfer -airports, hotels, train stations by professional, courteous staff. Always on time and providing direction and confidence in circumstances that would otherwise be baffling to us. Our local guides at each city we visited were highly professional, very knowledgeable, not only about the historical sites we saw, but also about contemporary Indian life and culture. The were always concerned that our interests were accommodated and were very personable and interesting people. The drivers were pros - never would we conceive of driving in India - it was a challenge to be a passenger. However, we always felt safe and in good hands with the professional drivers and their calm manner and cautious approach to traffic conditions.

Elegant Journeys quoted a reasonable price for a vacation including 5 star hotels. They met this price and the accommodations were of the highest standards both in physical accommodations and service by the staff. We enjoyed the hotel restaurants and ate an Indian diet throughout.

We would highly recommend Elegant Journeys and Vivek Wadhawan,, the manager, who arranged our trip to anyone traveling to India. Vivek was most accommodating during the planning phase and personally met us in Delhi to review our trip. You really can't go wrong.

we were very happy with the experience and the service

We consulted Elegant Journeys to put together a compressed tour of the Golden Triangle area in July based on recommendations from friends who had a good experience. We compared the package with a couple of other options and found EJ to offer the most for the money (e.g., better hotels, included monument fees, etc.). Raj at EJ (based in Delhi) was our main point of contact. The tour included a day each in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur -- I recommend more time if you have it, esp. Delhi where we all felt like there was much more to see.

Overall, we were very happy with the experience and the service. EJ uses independent companies for transportation and tour guides -- all were excellent. We had a mini bus, driver (Sandip), and driver assistant from Nihal travel and great guides in each city (particularly Nadeem in Agra was outstanding).

We opted for 5-star hotels (Vivanta in Delhi, Jaypee Palace in Agra, and Hilton in Jaipur) -- all were good, though I felt only the Hilton was up to the 5-star standard in US/Europe. All of our reservations and accommodations were as agreed -- only issue we had was getting smoking rooms at the Vivanta which we were able to get changed.

EJ's representative met us at the airport and got us situated with the driver/bus and Raj met us at the hotel the first night to get us settled. We had an EJ rep meet us at each hotel upon arrival (even very late at night) which was a nice touch.

The sites on the tours were pretty standard and felt too abbreviated, but this was more due to our schedule than any shortcoming by EJ. One thing to prepare for is that each guide will take you to specific shopping and dining locations that are tailor-made for tourists -- they weren't pushy to buy, but they clearly have an arrangement with those locations. The restaurants were all good, though overpriced.

I do want to give special mention to Raj and EJ -- he did his utmost to make sure we had what we needed, including helping us shop for food/sweets in Delhi (taking us himself), and helping us book train tickets which is a huge challenge from the US. He even came to the Delhi station to help negotiate with the porters as we had to transport a large amount of luggage.

I would recommend anyone visiting northern India (and maybe even other parts) look at EJ for arranging tours -- we had a very good experience.

The previous posters sum it up nicely - Elegant Journeys was the perfect way to see the Golden Triangle in India. As we prepared for our trip, we got quite a bit of feedback from other travelers regarding India; specifically just how there is really nothing that can prepare you for this amazing experience. Every year we travel throughout Europe and Asia for a month and a half, so as experienced travelers we have always relied on making our own way around the cities and to all points of interest with little difficulty. We like to walk everywhere and have our own experience without being on a "hand fed tour", so we were initially reluctant to book through EJ. However, as we would come to find out, traveling the way we typically prefer simply isn't possible in India. Thankfully, we had booked a seven day experience with Elegant Journeys that made sure we were taken to all sites, prices with guides were negotiated appropriately, and excellent accommodations were made in good central locations with five star hotels for a very affordable price. Our driver Dev became fast friends with us, made sure we were always treated well by the guides and hotels, and took us to some amazing local dining establishments within the small towns and big cities in the Golden Triangle. He always made sure we had cold water in the car, could carry on conversation about his country very well, and was always on hand with an umbrella (we visited during monsoon). Vivek the owner met with us on the first day, went through our whole itinerary, and made sure that his associates were always available for check in at every hotel we visited. To put it simply, we were treated exceptionally by the company and ended up having the trip of a lifetime thanks to Elegant Journeys - we highly recommend their services if you plan on visiting northern India. Also, ask for Dev as your driver - he was fantastic!

they deliver on all their promises

Have just returned from a 7 day golden triangle tour with Elegant Journeys. As previous posts attest, they deliver on all their promises. From the time we were picked up at Delhi Airport to the time we were returned there, everything worked seamlessly. Guides were at the hotel before the agreed times, company reps were on hand for our arrival and departure at Agra and Jaipur to ensure everything went smoothly, and our driver Dev was truly an angel. Would thoroughly recommend EJ to anyone travelling to India and also advise the Oberoi hotels package if you can fit it in your budget. The hotels are amazing and the staff a delight.

what a wonderful experience

I cannot begin to describe what a wonderful experience I and my family had in India, using Elegant Journeys as our tour facilitator. We were met at every location by a representative of the company, the guides were well informed and helpful, and the drivers were amazing ( shout out to Suno, who did such a wonderful job). We are normally independent travelers, but the idea of navigating the traffic and congestion was daunting, and Elegant Journeys made the entire process seamless and amazingly stress free.

We very much appreciated Vivek's occasional checking in on us as felt at all times confident that our movements were being monitored and therefore that any unforeseen incidents would be handled. We have travelled extensively and availed ourselves of a number of the major luxury private travel Companies but would certainly rate Elegant Journeys as the best of the best. We would highly recommend Elegant Journeys to anyone considering a trip to India and will most certainly be back ourselves for another journey with you through amazing India.
